State Senator William Gormley is an eight term State Senator. He was first elected to public office as a member of the Atlantic County Board of Freeholders in 1975. Gormely was elected to the State Assembly in 1977, and the State Senate in a special election in 1982. As chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Gormley investigated racial profiling. He's also a member of the Education Committee and sponsored the Educational Facilities School Construction Act, which appropriated $8.6 billion in construction funds for New Jersey's school districts.
